What Is a Site Review?

A Web site review is a strategy document that tells you what’s great and what’s no-so-great in four areas: code, design, content, and marketing. Your review will give you specific steps to improve your readers’ experiences and increase income from your site. Annual reviews are included in some monthly management plans and cost $252 when purchased a la carte.

Goals

Your review will help you accomplish two goals:

Positive Experiences

Crafting positive experiences is how you build, care for, and grow audiences. If your readers have positive experiences at your site, they’ll come back again and bring a few friends. If they have negative experiences, they’ll never come back and they’ll tell their friends to avoid your site.

Long-term Income

We want you to be in business for a long time. To do that, you’ll need customers who buy from you repeatedly and tell their friends about you. The steps we suggest in your site review will help you build an audience of those customers. We won’t suggest any tactics that yield short-term gains at the expense of long-term success.

The Document

Your site review will be a well-designed, color PDF. PDF’s are easy to share and you can open them on a wide array of devices. We’ll divide the review into four sections:

  1. Code,
  2. Design,
  3. Content, and
  4. Marketing.

Each section of your review will start with a summary and end with clear steps. At your request, we’ll also include a “Special Concerns” section to address anything extra you ask us to investigate.

Together, these four or five sections will help you improve your site and give you a strategy for long-term management.

How Do I Get a Review?

Annual site reviews are included free with the Super and Max monthly plans. If you don’t have one of those plans, you can purchase a review for $252. There’s no obligation to hire us to execute anything we suggest in a review.
